dental exams and cleanings

Dental Exams & Cleanings

Dental exams and cleanings are essential for maintaining a healthy smile and preventing future problems.

During your exam, our dentist carefully checks your teeth, gums, and jaw for signs of decay, infection, or other concerns, including a thorough oral cancer screening to detect abnormalities early. Professional cleanings remove plaque and tartar buildup that brushing and flossing can’t reach, helping prevent cavities and gum disease. For patients with signs of gum disease, periodontal (perio) treatment may be recommended to reduce inflammation, control infection, and protect the health of your gums and supporting bone.

Restorative Dentistry

Restorative dental work helps repair damaged or missing teeth to restore your smile’s strength, function, and appearance.

Fillings are used to treat cavities and protect teeth from further decay, while crowns cover and strengthen teeth that are cracked, weakened, or heavily restored. Bridges replace one or more missing teeth by anchoring to neighboring teeth, helping restore proper chewing, speech, and a natural-looking smile.

Pediatric Dentistry

Pediatric Dentistry

Pediatric dentistry focuses on caring for children’s teeth from infancy through the teenage years.

These visits help keep young smiles healthy through gentle exams, cleanings, and preventive care while teaching good brushing and flossing habits. When treatment is needed, we provide child-friendly fillings, pulpotomies (baby root canal therapy), and extractions to relieve discomfort, treat infection, and protect your child’s oral health—all in a calm, supportive environment. Nitrous sedation is available for young patients.

Emergency Dentistry

Emergency dentistry provides prompt care for unexpected dental issues such as toothaches, broken or knocked-out teeth, infections, or swelling.

Our goal is to quickly relieve pain, address the problem, and prevent further damage, helping you feel comfortable and confident as soon as possible. If you are experiencing a dental emergency please call our office at 519-974-4241.

Extractions

Extractions

Dental extractions are performed when a tooth is too damaged, infected, or too crowded to be saved.

The procedure is done gently and safely, with options to keep you comfortable throughout the visit. Removing the problem tooth helps relieve pain, prevent the spread of infection, and protect your overall oral health and alignment of teeth. In some cases, wisdom teeth may need to be removed if there is not enough space for them to erupt into your mouth.

Root Canal Treatments

Root canal treatments are used to save a tooth that is infected or severely damaged on the inside.

During the procedure, the infected tissue is carefully removed, the tooth is cleaned and sealed, and then restored to protect it from further damage. This treatment relieves pain, stops infection, and allows you to keep your natural tooth.

Sedation Dentistry

Sedation Dentistry

Sedation helps anxious patients feel calm and relaxed during dental procedures.

Mild sedation, often called “nitrous oxide” or “laughing gas,” helps reduce anxiety while keeping you awake and able to respond. Moderate sedation, given by oral medication, helps you feel deeply relaxed and may make you less aware of the procedure, though you can still respond to instructions. Both options are safe, carefully monitored, and designed to make your dental visit more comfortable. If you are an anxious dental patient our clinicians will be able to tailor the sedation to specific needs.

Cosmetic Dentistry

Cosmetic dentistry focuses on improving the appearance of your smile while maintaining oral health.

Treatments can include teeth whitening, veneers, crowns, bonding, and reshaping to enhance the color, shape, and alignment of your teeth. The goal is to give you a confident, beautiful smile that looks natural and feels healthy.

Implants

Implants

Dental implants are the gold standard for replacing missing teeth.

The procedure involves surgically placing a small titanium post into the jawbone, which acts as a strong foundation for a replacement tooth. Once the implant has fused with the bone, a custom-made crown is attached, restoring the look, function, and feel of a natural tooth. Implants help preserve jawbone health and provide a long-lasting, natural-looking smile.

Orthodontics

Clear aligner orthodontics use a series of custom-made, removable trays to gradually straighten teeth.

They are nearly invisible, comfortable, and convenient, allowing you to eat, brush, and floss normally while improving your smile. Clear aligners are an effective alternative to traditional braces for achieving a healthy, aligned bite.

Dentures

Dentures

Dentures are removable dental appliances that replace missing teeth and surrounding gum tissue.

They help restore your ability to eat, speak, and smile confidently while supporting the structure of your mouth and facial appearance. Dentures can be full (replacing all teeth) or partial (replacing some missing teeth) to fit your individual needs.
